Currently have what the machine came with 8GB of RAM
Any problem with just adding two 8GB cards? Don't have cash to add four 8GB cards.
Watch a decent video of a guy installing 32GB but he removed 8
Any reason not to add two 8Gb and leave in the the other cards, which I am presuming are two 4GBs.
Ask because I recall being told RAM should always be balanced..

There's no practical difference. One thing to note is if your W530 is a dual core machine, I believe they only have two memory slots for a total of 16GB of memory. The quad core machines have four slots for a total of 32GB of memory.

Thanks
FYI W530 is quad core. Takes up to 32GB

The system will default to what is referred to as asynchronous dual channel, but it really won't have a noticeable impact compared to having the sticks all the same capacity (synchronous dual channel). Try to shoot for the same brand as what's in your system; mixing brands, as well as speeds and latency timings, can cause instability.
