    Hey guys,

I bought a used X230 a month ago as a replacement for my trusty X300. It's fully specced with i7, 8GB of RAM, 180GB SSD and the IPS panel.
Now, i have a couple of problems with it: the backlit keyboard - its horrible - are there any good FRUs that i should look for, when searching for a replacement ? My friend just bought a T430 and that keyboard is extremely good, but it doesnt have backlit. Do you know any good FRU-s for the backlit keyboard ? I'd prefer Nordic layout, but I can adjust if needed.
Now the other one, screen: I still have a warranty, so i need advice. On the screen, there are some backlight bleeding spots or strange white spots that illuminate through the screen. Lenovo warranty support said, that this was user caused and not replaceable under warranty. Any sources to prove him otherwise ? This cannot be normal.

I hope you can help me. Thanks

Back in the day when ThinkPads cost a lot more money, this probably would have been fixed no questions asked, but I don't believe that's the case any longer. There's a long thread in the Lenovo forum here if you want to do some reading. You could try PMing Mark over on the Lenovo forums, but I can't say if he'll tell you anything different. My guess would be no, but it's worth a shot. The answer would be replace the screen, regardless of who does it.

I would note about the keyboards, the non-backlit ones seemed better to me and you've still got the ThinkLight on the X230 for illumination. Personally, I've yet to use a bad ThinkPad keyboard. People do have preference, so perhaps you should find out which one you have now and try another.
