I know a lot of you are gonna slap yourselves for ordering earlier (including me) but I thought it would be fair to link this deal to everyone who's on the fence.

What is the best way to cancel an existing (recent) order?
Can it be done online or do you have to call?
Perry -
OK, that did it. The price is now about $200 less than what I paid for mine. However, I sent my X220 back today, no 15% restocking and free shipping back to Lenovo for the back light bleed and ghosting I mentioned a few days ago. So maybe, this deal will seal the deal once again.

im really, really jealous of US residents right now

Being first usually costs more.
-
I'm pretty sure they'll be on backorder for a while now..
-
At least some of you were able to order the x220, I made the mistake of thinking these laptops would take a long time before it would get down to the under $1000 range... and ordered a t410s... urgh.... enjoy it while you can I really think this is the sweet spot and lenovo is really being aggressive with this one... to get some sales going.
-
Yep, amazing deal. Considering cancelling my order from the 12% MasterCard deal from last wk...sure I could flip it but I don't think for much more than what I paid, methinks.

Guys, I have a couple questions:
1. Is it recommended to get the 320GB 7200RPM HD, or is there a place I can get it any cheaper? Can you provide a link?
2. Is the IPS Screen recommended? I heard of a ghosting issue which slightly scares me, but is that the norm?
3. What are the requirements for this coupon to work? -
2. Most people would recommend it, because even with some minor issues, it's still easily beats most other laptop screens.
3. The requirement is that you have to start with their special offer configuration of the laptop, meaning your customization options are limited. I don't see why anyone would complain though, because their configuration is a very high end one. -
1. with the deal in this thread you need to get the 320gb 7200rpm.
i don't think you can find it cheaper elsewhere. Hitachi's about to come out with a 500gb 5400rpm one that'll likely sell for around $65, but honestly I would just wait a few yrs before upgrading the drive. 320gb is plenty of space, and it makes more sense to get an mSATA drive right now.
2. YouTube - Display: TN vs. IPS at Lenovo Thinkpad X220
The difference is substantial.
3. c'mon buddy, that's a bit of a pointless question. go to the slickdeals thread. -
But at least you get to be first! -
-
deals gone
-
I wonder how long it will be back ordered now.
-
-
Kinda wish I'd kept it and got the screen replaced within the warranty period to be honest, rather than take a risk on a whole new machine and the lottery of fan noise and higher temps. -
-
They get to buy their computers for c. half the price and they still complain about the high prices
Just for comparison. The similar model in Scandinavia would cost....
$2,267 USD
How's that for some salt in the wounds -
-
What's this bleeding and ghosting issue all over the forum? I didn't notice anything wrong with mine
On another note, seems like the deal's dead.
Amazing x220 Deal until 5/18!
