in the near future? I bet it would be a popular choice.

Also, I was wondering if ALL LED screens are by nature Glossy?

The screen brightness or lack thereof is one ting that could steer me elsewhere. I really like the ability to turn up the screen brightness so it is easy on my eyes :)

    Thanks,

    Dave

I don't know if the T61 is going to get LED backlighting soon, but I can tell you that LED backlit screens are not necessarily glossy. The glossy/matte option is a covering put on the screen while the LED is a back lighting (behind the screen) technology.

For instance, the 15.4" MacBook Pro comes in an LED-backlit, non-glossy version.

LED has to do with how the screen is lighted, not the coating on it.

I wish we could buy the LED and solder it to replace the current light in our T61.

I think you all for the info. I am glad LED is independent of screen type. I would kill for an LED T61 with a matte screen :)))
