Anyone know if this HDD will work in a T60?

it should. Standard 2.5" notebook HDDs. That actually is a pretty good deal - I'm waiting on the hitachi 7K200 to drop in price though.

Masteraleph are you planning on replacing your hard drive? If you are you may want to consider just adding it on with the ThinkPad Serial ATA Hard Drive Bay Adapter. It should show up as a regular Hard Drive and you could use it with that 160 GB model from dell. Just a suggestion.

Interesting idea. And then have an external CDROM for home use if necessary? Not a bad idea.

You can also swap the cdrom drive in and out as needed. It only takes a minute. I find that I don't use the optical drive much. Even for movies. I rip movies to an iso file and them mount them on a virtual drive to watch them.

It's a really great option. The cool thing about it is that you just store your files on there and as the computer industry puts out larger 2.5" hard drives you just keep putting bigger ones in there. Yeah you can switch the hard drive and optical drive in and out, it's hot swappable which means you can pull it out without turning the computer off. I plan on having a couple of these, not many people know about this option. Stallen do you use one of these?

I haven't got my T61 yet. I definitely ordered the ultrabay HDD adapter (and the advanced mini dock). They were both shipped today. :) The T61 is still "in process" though. :(
