I want to buy another AC adapter, so I can leave one at home (like a mini dock station, I suppose). I figured getting a T60 one off Ebay may be cheaper than buying a T61 one directly from Lenovo. Thoughts?

I have seen other AC adapters, namely from t43s and I know that a T60's AC adapter is the same as t43s so I definitely think that the T61 adapter should be the same. Also dont all think pads have the same sockets for their batteries? And aren't batteries interchangeable between different models? And the sockets are located on the batteries... so if you do all that figuring, you should have your answer: YES.

The AC adapter for the 40-series are totally different from the 60-series. Using the wrong one is a surefire way to destroy you laptop power pack. The former is 72-watt, the latter is 90-watt or 65-watt (travel version). Fortunately, the wrong adapter will not fit into the wrong laptop.

Thanks, guys. Yep, looks like the T60 adapter works with the T61. The T40-series one doesn't.

Ahh ok, guess you cant go by looks then... Thanks for correcting me.
Are the T60 and T61 AC adapters the same?
