I've done 2 BIOS update through System Update, both of which suceeded on the first try. But seeing many people posting on the forum saying that they have problems updating BIOS through System Update, your experience may vary.

Disclaimer: Don't take my word that updating through this way is 100% safe.

As for procedues, there is actually none. Select the update from the System Update window, starting installing and pop in your battery and password (if you set one) when prompted, follow all instructions on screen and try not to do anything when the BIOS is updating.

    Good luck.

I'm of the old if it ain't broke, don't fix it school. Unless you have something that needs an update, I wouldn't do it. I only updated my R60s BIOS so I could upgrade the CPU. Before that I was running the one that came with it.

I've done 3 times BIOS upgrade using System Update, all times without any problems, but I would agree if is not a necessary upgrade why would you upgrade? I'm sure if something will go wrong, you will think "what pushed me to do that?" :)

So, just read what upgrade does/fixes.

My BIOS version is 1.14 and current version is 2.20 .... there are quite lot of fixes available -:

    Considering for an update.....

So, all i have to do is

1)Charge my battery pack to 100%
    2)Plug-in my AC adapter
3)And do not restart my system in between.
