    Hey all,

Yes, question 2 of today. I'm looking to max out my memory on this laptop, and wondered if there were any suggestions on brands. I've been looking at newegg.com, and have found 3 that I am sort of torn between:

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820144066

    and

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductReview.aspx?Item=N82E16820231135

    and lastly

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820134578

I'm leaning towards the Geil, and my next choice would be the Kingston. Maybe thoughts on another brand? I'd like to keep my cost below $100.

Yes, I know my laptop won't recognize 4GB of memory (should recognize 3GB), but it doesnt hurt to put it in right? Plus, it costs more to buy a 2GB and a 1GB stick. Please correct me if I'm wrong on any of this.

    Thanks!

You are correct, and honestly I would just choose any RAM that has a lifetime warranty *which should be all of them*, my A-DATA I think I got for 70 or 60 for 4GB. It all works fine.

Buy on price as most will work.

What about dual channel memory? Crucial says I cannot use it, but Crucial also says my laptop cannot use more than 2GB (and Lenovo says 3GB). If I bought the dual channel, will it work, or is that a waste? Those I mentioned above are dual channel.

I guess the memory will run in asymmetric dual channel (2gb dual channel and 1gb single channel). I have 2+1GB in my T60 and I am absolutely satisfied. Bandwidth went up only 300MB/s with adding the 2GB stick, but size matters more for me. The 2GB piece is Kingston and my machine works flawlessly with it.
