I'm considering getting an ssd for boot, and some of my core apps and a game or two. I'll be dual booting linux and windows 7 too.
So my question is, should I go with getting an ultrabay adapter, or use the msata slot? Is there any difference in performance between the two? And which is in general cheaper?
I'd probably be willing to spend $100, give or take. But definitely not over 200.

The only reason I bought a mSATA drive initially was because I wanted a SATA III SSD in the primary bay and all I could afford was a 120GB drive. So the mSATA drive was my reserve drive in case I ran out of space.

I doubt I'll ever buy another mSATA drive.

So are you saying that because you were dissatisfied with it's performance in some way? Or just that you didn't use it enough for it to be worth it and there were better alternatives?

I never really used it. The Intel 80GB drive I had was really cool and plenty fast.

If I was going to dual boot, I would probably buy the Samsung 256GB 830 series drive for the primary bay. They you would have plenty of capacity, SATA III performance in a 7mm SSD drive.
