I noticed there is lots of offerings on ebay, but is there any other reliable sources with cheaper offerings?

Are you looking for a 14" or 15" T61p? I recommend just buying direct from Lenovo. Wait for a good deal with coupon codes.
It's amazing how much the "p" series prices have fallen. -
Well certain configs are better on ebay just given the fact the wait on some options is so long example the WUXGA +, and also you dont have to take a lottry on the scree, the keyboard and so on. If you dont want too many exotic options go for lenovo.

Try this link below to Lenovo's outlet, it looks like these are possibly from canceled orders, I'd call them to be sure. I know the ones with product code 6459CTO are T61p's. You can copy and paste the list into excel (use paste special as Unicode Text) and then sort the data to make it easier.

I saw several T61p's with WUXGA and T7700 on lenovo outlet so you could probably get what you want for much cheaper.
-
Those were sold out a few days ago.
-
Then I guess lenovo doesn't update its site often. They were listed before I made that post.
-
I always buy straight from the company sometimes it comes out alot cheaper with a nice coupon -
they don't seem to have t61p's with dedicated 256mb graphics
-
I'm interested in this too. I don't really like paying people on eBay to send me a more expensive laptop than would of get from configuring the same laptop on their site. It's stupid. Plain stupid.
It would be great if there would be someone living in the US that would open some sort of shop to sell ThinkPad CTOs. I would pay for something like that, since all I can get outside US is crap. -
but on lenovo can't find 2.6Ghz but its available on ebay for example
-
I believe it is available on Lenovo's site. I've checked yesterday.
-
unfortunately not anymore...
-
I believe it is still available.

I bought a new maxed out T61p on ebay. There are still several left in that lot the last time I looked.
They are 15.4" systems in sealed boxes, have 4 GB of memory, the dual-layered DVD, nine celled battery and a 2.6 GHZ processor and three years of depot warranty with accident protection for a price less than you'd get it on the employee plan.
It'll be here Saturday. -
But they don't have the WUXGA and they have a 160GB HDD. Not quite maxed out in my opinion
.
-
I didn't want UXGA from what I've read about it and I have a 200GB Hitachi due to arrive home tomorrow.
-
I saw those models on eBay and I like them
.

I found the seller to be VERY easy to work with. I have a feeling those systems were configured before the 200 GB disks were available, otherwise he configured the system almost exactly how I would have except I'd prefer Vista Buisiness to Ultimate. Yes, I liked them enough to buy one. I had originally ordered almost the same system from Lenovo and my order was ESD out to January and I cancelled it. Right now you cannot get a T61p configured anywhere near as well as those are. I can't wait til Saturday!!!! (But it's going to be a lot of work - I'm very torn between a clean install and keeping the thinkpad software.)
-
The numbers of those on the outlet is limited (unless there are more people upset with Lenovo...LOL). So everybody is running to it right now and in a few weeks they will all be sold out...
-
got your yet Renee ?
Best place to buy latest T61p maxed out?
