Is it likely there will be big sale between Christmas and New Year? Or as Christmas approaches closely?

Is it unlikely to have big sale in Janaury (start of the year)?

    According to past experience?

I just bought my x200 yesterday with the 3 day sale. Ever since I've been observing lenovo sales, I keep seeing them fluctuate between 10%-20% discounts. I bought it with the shareholder purchase program + additional discount of the 3 day sale, and free shipping. It was good enough for me to pull the trigger. The longer you wait, the cheaper it will get. It's the same way for all electronics. So my best advice is buy it when you need it, and it falls within your budget.

I used my Employee Purchase Program along with the discounts and saved over $800 on my new T500 :)

Lately I've been thinking about waiting, CES is only a few weeks away and new things will be coming out. When new things come out you have a choice, snap up the computers with old tech at a great price or pay more for the newest stuff. I would like to do the first choice but tend to overspend on the second. :)

i dont think there will be any thinkpad announcements at CES. dont plan on price drops this early considering most of the current models came out less than 6 months ago.

Wow, teach me wise one, please!!! I would be the happiest dude on the planet if I could save that much when I finally take the plunge. I have a friend who says he'll help me because he has an employee discount, but I still don't think it approaches $800, or does it?
