I have an X61 that I just finished a clean install of XP on today, and I've got everything up and running, save for bluetooth. I have the software installed, but I don't seem to be able to get the power to start.
What software is needed to enable bluetooth to power up? Thank you.

i dont think its a software problem, do you have a correct xp driver?
-
Oh. Hm, who knows. What's the device called in Device Manager? I still have two "Unknown Devices", which I think are unrelated. I do have:
Bluetooth Bus Enumerator
Manufacturer: Broadcom
And the broadcom driver is installed for that, yet, the bluetooth power light remains off.

For my T61 I use the ThinkVantage Access Connections software to turn on the Bluetooth radio. The utility can be used to turn on or off bluetooth and the regular wireless nic.
Have you tried using that for the X61? (assuming it can be used with that) -
I tried Access Connections, but I didn't see any bluetooth options anywhere... strange.
-
Okay, were you able to verify you had the Bluetooth radio show up in Access Connections prior to installing XP?
I say that because if it is installed, it should show up in Access Connections. I'm actually on my second T61, because the first one I had didn't have the Bluetooth radio installed and they had to send me a second one. The easiest way to tell is if you see it in the Access Connections.
You can refer to my experience in this post. -
Have you tried enabling the bluetooth first by pressing FN+F5? I was not able to install the driver until it had been manually enabled.
-
FN+F5 is part of the Access Connections software package.
Edit: To clarify and slightly correct what I said, its not the same application, but they both have access to the same information. But yes, its good to check both. -
Yes. Bluetooth WAS working in the factory preload I had before. Fn+F5 does nothing in its present state. =/

Okay, if Fn+F5 is not functional you should be able to install the software for it to enable that function. Have you tried running the ThinkVantage System Update utility? I believe its the hotkey software you need to install for Fn keys to work. Alternatively you can also check the software download section on Lenovo's site to get it from there too.
-
In order to enable Fn+F5 you need Hotkey utility.

Understood, thank you all very much.
Bluetooth power, what utility do I need?
