My work laptop is a new T61 and I'm curious how widespread this issue is.
On my T61, there is slight warping in the part of the case above the F4-F7 keys. The ThinkVantage button panel has a slight bulge in it in the part above the LCD cable, while the rest of the case has a slight bulge in the same place, and a slight depression in the area to the left, above the F4-F5 keys.
This issue has probably been there all this while, but I just noticed it yesterday, and am curious whether it might have anything to do with the fact that a few days ago, I found that my T61, which I had put to sleep, had turned itself on while in my laptop bag and was very hot and unresponsive (I had to hard power-cycle it to get it working again).
Does anyone else have this issue? My previous ThinkPad, an X31, was extremely well built, so I'm surprised to see issues like this in a ThinkPad.

My T61 has this as well. If you look further beyond the bulge, you'll see that it seems to coincide with the a ribbon cable running into the LCD panel. I wonder if that may have something to do with it?

Weird, I have this too. Never noticed it before, but it doesn't seem to make much of a difference since it's not noticeable, unless yours is more pronounced than mine..

The bulge seen in the case plastic directly over the LCD flex cable is due to how thin said plastic is. In turn, the thinness of said plastic is due to the magnesium rollcage underneath that obviates the need for thick case plastics.

Thanks for your replies, everyone!
