That is some CRAZY deals! I seriously am considering replacing my 6 month old T60 for the T61...
-
-
Amazing. If I could live with non-widescreen, I would so jump on this. Being a FatWalleter, i can vouch for the "hotness" of this deal lol
-
That is amazing! If I wanted a T61p I'd definitely jump on it!
Thanks Acaurora!!!! -
that is just an insane deal man... i mean... that is a pretty high end laptop... only downers is the 1 GB RAM, CD burner, and the HDD. All of that can be easily upgraded... except for the CD burner.
-
I wish it was the 15.4 widescreen, boo!
-
I may be mistaken but this deal is for non widescreen models only.
It's a great deal anyway. -

great deal, time to conver to quote and get some money back!
-
Can I get a price quote and get money back on my 14" SXGA+ using this???
-
Not totally sure how Lenovo makes money on that kind of a sale. Wow.
-
Kind of ironic considering how many unfilled orders there seem to be.
-
When I bought my standard screen laptop it shipped in 4 days
EDIT: I'm sorry, 2 days. -
Well, I ordered a 14" SXGA T61p on 8/19 and est. ship date is 9/6...so go figure I guess.
-
wow...I wish i wasn't so accustomed to a WS...i would be all over this
-
I would price match it. I created a quote and it comes out to over $250 cheaper than my order going through Education + 5% off.
-
I am about to order this ThinkPad T61 - 1 Yr Depot Warranty

This is an insane deal...when does end so I can tell my friend. -
hey Brad...which option is the Atheros card?
-
up till the 4th i believe...coupons tend to expire at 11 eastern time...so it will be 11pm eastern on the 4th
-
thanks man I wish it was widescreen as well.
-
Just dropping a quick word in here, that any of you looking for a WSXGA+ in the 15.4" T61p model, it was JUST released. Pretty sure it doesn't have WUSB, but it's a few hundred dollars cheaper then when it was released. The 25% off really cuts it down to the $1700, even with all the best specs! The additional coupon doesn't work, but I'd thought I'd give everyone a chance to jump on this new item!
-
this is betteer than epp correct?
-
yes it is..by 5%...only for standard 4:3 screens though
-
yes. but only 14" non-wide screen -
Cr@p! I'm jumping in on this deal and ordering that T61p I originally wanted but didn't exist at the time except in the tabook. I'll figure out with to do with my T61 WXGA+ later.

It's nice to see that the 15" T61p is back up there. Hopefully WSXGA+ is a little bit easier to fulfill than WUXGA.
I'll be buying one if I can sell my M70 before the sale ends and if I can decide whether I want the 14" or 15"... -

Note that the deal works only on the 14" version.
-
what are the specs and a price you are willing to unload it for?
-
Hi eyecon, The specs are T7300 2.0Ghz, 1GB RAM (1dimm), 100GB 7200rpm (Seagate drive), 14.1" WXGA+(1440x900) (LG screen, No dead pixels), Nvidia NVS140m, Intel Turbo Memory, DVD-R multiburner, fingerprint reader, media card slot, Atheros card, 6 cell battery(2 charge cycles on it), NO webcam and NO Bluetooth, 2 year depot warranty. Received on August 02. I lef the Core 2 Duo sticker on, but took off the Windows stickers, I have them on wax paper. I'm probably looking for 1050 shipped. I can take pics and verify the warranty if needed.
-
The Atheros card is going to be any of the "Thinkpad" cards. (ie. thinkpad a/b/g..., thinkpad a/b/g/n)
-
This is insane, I'm ordering a T61p.
-
is it better to get the thinkpad card or the intel one? even though intel is more expensive? thanks
edit..for the t61 -
I thought the intel wifi was the cheapest? I've heard that certain wifi cards can generate a lot of heat. You may want to investigate that matter if temperature is a concern for you.
*edit, nevermind, that is for the x61 -
According to one test the Intel 4965 runs the coolest.
That's the reason I've chosen that one. -
wow, this is an insane price for the specs I configured. too bad I just got a new laptop or else this would be the one to get.

Murphy's Law...
The craziest part is that although I thought the NAR did originally posted was pretty good and I ordered a T61p 14.1" SXGA+ because of it... around the day my laptop arrives an even BETTER deals comes along!

Create a price quote for the exact same configuration of your machine and then call Lenovo for a price match, they will credit you the difference if it has been 21 days since it shipped.
-
Everyone... I fear this might have ended on 8/31. I was able to make the USPTSERIES14 work this afternoon, but now that I'm ready to order I cannot make it overlay with the current 25% off.
Can someone else test it and make sure it's not a Cookie issue with my machine? I cleared them but still cannot make it work.
What are my chances of asking Lenovo to do a price match on an offer which has expired? -
smoothoperator Notebook Evangelist
I tried it looks like the deal is dead....
Lenovonwill not price match on a dead deal, your only chance is if you saved the quote, then you could order and price match -
Good advice. Although I emailed myself many carts, the one with the 20% discount was NOT one of them. I saw on another site that this was supposed to be good until 9/4 so I didn't think it was time-critical. I may ring them in the AM and ask about it. Dooes anyone know if their reps know the coupon codes or are they more or less order-takers? It's been a long time since I've actually had to call to order something. -
http://bensbargains.net/merchants/91/Lenovo_Coupons/ is a good site to bookmark if you haven't purchased yet.

you actually have to have a quote number in order for Lenovo to pricematch, you would just build the computer and checkout, as if you were really buying the computer, on the credit card screen it will give you the quote option. You would then get an email with a quote number in it. Call up Lenovo and they will ask for the quote number and they will pricematch. The Cart Saving thing won't work. -
Thanks. I checked it out and they have pretty much the same coupon codes as the other sites... USXNARTRIPLE and USPTSERIES14. Maybe it's just not working right at this moment, because I saw on the NAR site that the NAR discount was stackable with the 25% off. Since I don't appear to be getting any discount (besides the 25%) it's possible there is an error with their site.
I'm hoping that is what it is, because I was ready to order 2 machines tonight. -
Thank you, that's what I wanted to know. If I can turn a cart into a quote and have the person on the other end pick it up, that's what I will do. It will save a lot of time and my question of stackable coupons will be answered quickly... either they will or they won't (seems they should given that NAR is stackable on top of the sale and the Labor Day hasn't even happened yet and that coupon doesn't work either!)
I cannot express how disappointing it is to be so excited about ordering a new toy (which I don't really need) only to have the code not work! Maybe this is a subliminal message telling me not to mess with the perfect T60 I've had for about a year. -
One thing I can say about Lenovo is that they are quick to terminate good deals when too many people jump on them....if you plan on buying...just buy it...do not hesitate..especially how Lax_traveler said he planned on buying 2 machines, but kept procrastinating on it. Another good reason why not to wait is that the more orders in front of you...especially on a good deal, the longer you will 'probably' have to wait on shipment...hope this is a lesson well learned....if you definitely want it...have the money for it...do not wait..especially with lenovo
for others who are awaiting putting together enough credit or funds to pay for your purchase...this comment was not for you -
Yes, I just did it and they have credited my card with the difference. Just an email to them with the lower price quote and a copy of the original invoice. Took about 24 hours for them to reply and another 24 for the business office to send the credit.
-
anyway to stilll get the 20% discount?
im pissed -
Here are some up to 15% off, if you don't mind.
http://bensbargains.net/merchants/91/Lenovo_Coupons/ -
the 15% opnly applies to the x series
-
Thanks! I also found chatter about this in another thread.
It worked!
I got an email confirming a credit for the difference this morning.
-
im sad....the deal doesnt work for me anymore. =(
