    Can hard drive be swapped from one computer to another exact same computer?

    This is a general question about laptops but specifically about the 600e. Can a hard drive with data on it from one 600e be put in another exact same 600e and work or does it need to be formatted?

    not i did it with an old compaq armada... a few years ago and it worked. try it it should work.

    It will not work on the newer ThinkPads which have the TPM chip built in and the HDD protected by a Passcode.
