So I'm having much difficulty figuring out how to tell my BIOS to boot from the CD before the hard drive. I'm trying to install Ubuntu, but I can't even get the LiveCD to run. I've entered the BIOS by pressing F1, and the went into the startup menu. From there I entered the boot submenu, and the CD drive was already listed at number 2 (some USB thing was first). It was listed before the hard drive which has Vista installed on it. Just to be sure, I made it the first item in the list, restarted, and had the same results. It booted right into Vista.

Will somebody please share how to get my computer to boot first from the CD drive? It's probably something small, but I can't figure it out. And it must be too simple for the forums, because I can't see to find it on there either.

    [btw, I'm using a ThinkPad T400]

    EDIT:
My bad... I would delete this thread, but I don't know how to. For some reason, the problem was fixed (somewhat magically it seems) after restarting my computer a few more times. I didn't actually change anything, and it suddenly started working. Sorry for the thread, but I was freakin' out a bit for a while.
