    I'm typing on my new T400 right now. I'm liking it, but there's a bit of a problem with scrolling while browsing the internet. It gets choppy, even if there are no pictures.

    can someone please tell me a solution to this? thanks

    oh yea and often times whenever I press the middle scroll key, a black box just appears for an instant, like some sort of graphical error. It's not a groundbreaking deal, but it just seems a bit... off for a new laptop.

    The culprit is your browser. If you use Internet exporer, ditch it and try Firefox. If you already use it, there are multiple add-ins that will let you adjust scrolling to your taste. I use Smoothwheel.

    I've found that scrolling in Firefox can be choppy when I'm on battery power. I assume this is because the processor speed has been throttled down, and the power management software doesn't respond quickly enough. Scrolling is perfectly smooth when I'm on AC power.

    I am having the same random black box appear too on my T400. I am currently on firefox 3.0.1

    I think that's the only non-completely awesome thing about this laptop. That and the fact that I haven't figured out how to switch the graphics over ^^;
