I had a problem with my motherboard of thinkpad R50 and on diagnosis I was told that the mother board needs to be replaced. As it is expensive I want to delay the replacement as I have a desktop.

Please advise me how can I recover the data from my harddisk of my laptop.

Buy an external case, put your hard drive in the case and dump the data onto another PC.
