Did you order a T61p?

Just wanted to find out how many in this forum have ordered a T61p so far.

I ordered an R61, but that order was cancelled.

 

Can you say why it was cancelled? Just ordered one for my wife. Shipping date hasn't changed from 9/4 since I placed order on 8/2. Didn't think it would take so long!

 

His R61 was canceled because lenovo advertised the wrong price.

Contemplating between a $1300 4:3 T61p, MBP, or Asus F8Sv, V2S group-buy.

A 14" 16:10 T61p would make it worth my wild. A media card reader would seal the deal.

First post. Ordered 7/17 with an 8/17 ESD. Check it every day, hasn't changed since ordering. Well, other than the build details disappeared about a week ago. Luckily I screen printed the order page at the time.

 

now tats weird, I ordered on 7/18 and my ESD was 8/6. Now it got delayed to 9/6.

 

Ordered initially on 7/17, but when I found a coupon + SPP code to get me a T7700 for the same price of the T7500 I initially ordered, I dropped that order like a bad habit and reordered. Amusingly my ship date was only pushed back by 3 days when I reordered on 7/23. But ship dates at this point are completely irrelevant until they... you know, actually start building T61ps.

Despite the delays, problems, piss-poor customer service system, I'm gonna ride it out. I'm not going to complain to some 20-something CS rep who doesn't know the difference (let alone accurate ship-date) of a T61p from a TI-82 calculator. I worked as a CSM for a webhosting company for 2 1/2 years, I know how the game is played. Complaining to "a Supervisor" is only going to get you a better sounding canned response then the initial canned response you got from front line support. Apparently there's no SLA or Ticket System to document for us these repeated conversations everyone's having. So ultimately you're just sitting on hold to speak to someone who's going to apologize for your missed ship date and just add 10 - 15 calendar days after that to placate you. All the while they pray that tomorrow the hold-up will be resolved so they can tell you when you call again tomorrow that T61ps are finally shipping. And this is what they do till 6pm EST each day.

Is their lack of service excusable? Of course not. But that's just the way it is. This is the price we pay for being 1st in line adopters. Just remember, there's always BestBuy or the Outlet Depots. Those things ship same day if you order before 4pm I hear.

 

I intend on buying a T61p. I am looking for a price around 1200 dollars.
I am hoping to find sucha deal during the holiday season sale.
Thus, the long painstaking wait.
Do you guys think I can get such a deal during the Christmas sale?

Order mine on au July 26th and received at home on august 02 just before lunch.

But I didn't order from lenovo.

I add 2 gigs of memory and during the installation, I saw an intallation sticker showing july 25th. Fast delivery isn't it? :yes:

lenovo told me the new esd for my ti-81 is 12/20/09.. If that helps..

 

I ordered on 7/12 with an original ESD of 7/31 and now 8/31 but I'm completely ignoring it and just wishing for the best. I gave up hoping for it to come soon and realized that the less I think about it, the faster it'll come... so much for that with these forums at my fingertips =/ .

 

Dunno. I didn't go to any particular lengths to get the lowest price I could possibly find thru coupons and such, and I did take their 3 year ThinkPad Protection --maybe they just realized that if they screw with my order it nearly would have to be in favor of an order with a lower profit margin on it at the risk of me going elsewhere or re-ordering at better terms.

On the other hand, if something happens to my order now I'm coming back here to kick your ass.

 

don't worry abt tat, all the T61p orders got screwed up, ur's shouldn't be anything special

 

HOLY CRAP! How many times are you going to say that your R61 order got cancelled? You have posted it about 40 times in these forums, STOP! We all know! It's ok, life will go on.
