Im debating on getting an x series or a macbook air.
I really am sold on the macbooks keyboard and design, but still remember the love I had for my T43 a couple of years back.
My main concern is the weight/keyboard of the notebook.

The current X-series Thinkpads do have full-size keyboards. They are nearly identical to the T-series keyboards, except they have the familiar colored stripes and different-style buttons for volume and power.

Yes, the keyboards for the new X series are supposed to be the same and interchangeable with the T400 and T500 series, from what I read. The keyboard on my X200 is excellent, I have no complaints. One of my problems with the Mac has always been the flat style keys that they use on the keyboard.

they're the same physical size but X200 keyboards have a markedly different bolt pattern than the Rxxx/Txxx/Wxxx keyboards and aren't interchangeable.
-
The air will certainly be lighter but the keyboard will be no where the same quality. Also the mac book air lacks ports...ethernet and the potential for the x200's battery life.

I went from a T40 to an x200. The keyboard is very nearly identical in size, layout and quality. The only major difference I've been able to find is the presence of the "Windows" and "context menu" keys on the x200.
The x200s or x301 is probably the most natural competitor to the Air. Both will be quite light (the x200s is lighter than the Air) and have fantastic keyboards as well as high resolution, if limited quality, LCDs. -
Yep, I can confirm that they're not compatible with each other, as I have seen both keyboards side by side.

Didn't know that. I thought the keyboards were interchangeable. Thanks for clarifying.
Do the X series have full sized keyboards?
