    I am going to business school next year and need a new laptop. My school gives this z61t * 2.0 GHz Pentium T2500 Pentium Core Duo processor
    * 14.1" WXGA LCD display
    * 100GB hard drive (5400rpms)
    * CD-RW/DVD-RW Multi-burner
    * 1GB SDRAM (2 DIMMs)
    * 10/100/1000 (Gigabit) Ethernet
    * Modem
    * Sudden motion sensor
    * Fingerprint Reader
    * 802.11 a/b/g wireless built-in
    * 3-year international on-site warranty
    * 4.7 lbs
    For $1527.00

    The dealbreaker for me is the Wxga screen and no titanium cover, but I have an uncle that works for lenovo/ibm. I want to get a z61m with the swxga+ and the titanium cover. Can I expect similar savings? And how do I go about asking him for the employee discount??
    Thank you to anyone that responds for the help.

    I don't know what the employee discount is, but about how to ask your uncle... Depends on your relationship with him. I suppose a bottle of something good can't hurt? A good cigar if he smokes? He'll say, what's this for? and you can say, for being such a great uncle who's gonna get me employee discount for z61m :D :D :D

    Good luck!

    I was wondering do I need him to actually buy it for me or can he give me some type of coupon code or log in.

    The employee discount is just his name and a number. Type this info into the website and you will have access to buy computers with his discount.

    Does anybody know how much employee pricing takes off? The student one retails for around 2500 and is 1527.

    EPP info will be your uncles employee serial # and last name. You can login to EPP site by going to www.lenovo.com/epp.

    As for % off, it depends on models. I saw some prices cheaper at EPP site and then again some prices cheaper on education site. So before you buy anything, you have to shop around.

    Good luck. :)

    My friend also has an uncle at IBM, but said he is still waiting for the Core Duo notebooks to be available to employees at a discount.

    I am looking for Thinkpad T60(Core Duo) right now and I am very happy to know it is possible to get a great price with EPP. However, I have no idea about what the "IBM Serial Number" and "Access Code" would be. Could you guys give me some ideas about that? Thanks a lot. My email is [email protected].

    Do you mind telling me the "IBM Serial Number" and "Access Code" if you know?

    Thanks in advance

    So then you won't be able to get an employ discount. Most people don't know someone who works for IBM.
