I was wondering if you could somehow enable the fingerprint security on folders, files and etc. I already know that most people use it for logging into windows and for website. But i want to know if the reader could also be use you protect sensitive files and folders.

Also, i was wondering what TPM security is. I recently bought a used R61 and i completely reformatted the notebook clean, to the original factory state, however, it seems that the TPM password the previous user had is still affect. Does anyone know how to get reset the password and give me a step to step tutorial of how to do it via BIOS?

    Thanks !

Yea i just tried to register new fingerprint on a clean install of XP, it wouldn't let me register the same finger again

    Try this:

    BOOT
    f1
    Security
    Fingerprint
    Erase Internal Fingerprint data [Enter]
    Yes
    f10
    yes

Sorry didn't respond to this thread earlier, but my fingerprint reader works fine. I was just wondering if i could put a password to certain files and folders, aside from logging into windows. Thanks again Keltix for the tutorial though
