I have been searching this forum and Google for a couple of days, but no one seems to know how to solve this issue.

After a couple of minutes using Firefox it will either lock up (10-20 seconds) or report that "Firefox has stoppped working" leaving me with no option other than shutting FF down.

I'm on Vista x64 SP3, I have the NVS140 graphic card and I'm on a completely fresh install.

Make sure you have all the hotfixes for SP3. Try and delete all your firefox add-ons if you have any and see if that fixes the problem.

...What about running Firefox with a new, clean Firefox profile?
    Or in Safe Mode?

    It's SP1 not SP3, sorry.

    It's the same with Firefox3 beta 5.

    Disabling plugins doesn't help.

Occurs mostly when running on battery.

How can I do that? Please explain. Should that solve it?

You can removed Firefox add-ons by going to Tools > Add-ons.

i had that exact same problem. if you are running thinkvantage password manager then its a pretty good chance that its the problem. just hit "disable" in the add ins as stated above. I also recommend getting Service Pack 2 for XP.

    I'm sorry but I don't think I have the add-on.

I did a clean install and I don't remember installing that particular add-on for FF.

Have you upgraded any drivers from the Lenovo website?

I was having a problem where after I had updated some drivers using the Lenovo System updater Firefox 2 would run for 20 seconds and then become unresponsive.

Fortunately for me it was mostly fixed by moving to Firefox 3.0 beta 5 release which is currently available.

I have had the problems before and after I updated via Lenovo automatic update.

The problem is the same with Firefox 3 beta 4 and 5.
