I have an L430 that I want to install a 1 TB 7400 hard drive and it is slightly thicker than the OR drive... and when I put the back door back on it seems to pooch out a little... is this going to hurt anything?

And, if I wanted to... could I eliminate the little metal hard drive holder altogether since that may make the back fit on more flat. Once the back is in place, I doubt the hard drive would be able to move anyway.

    Any thoughts on this?

Well, I just installed the new hard drive that was slightly thicker than the OE drive without the hard drive caddy that it was in and since the new drive is slightly thicker... it seems to stay in place OK once the back door is put in place.

If there is some major problem with doing this, please let me know.

I already have Windows loaded and updated and am in the process of getting it all tweaked how I like it and so far it is functioning perfect and it's pretty fast with the Sata3, 7400rpm drive I'm using with this fresh install.
