For the past while I've had problems with my headset mics being too quiet on my Lenovo Ideapad Y570(Which I got at the beginning of September 2011). Here's the story, I first got a Plantronic Gamecon (a 770 I think, not important though) so I can make youtube videos and use ventrillo with my friends. Right off the bat I had a problem with it being too quiet and I tried everything to fix it, such as raising the volume and boost in the audio options. However, the volume always went to a lower setting and boost only helped alittle (because the higher I made it the more backround static there was). I also tried installing new drivers for my sound card, but that didn't help either. So I thought it was just the mic being defective and returned it and bought a Razer Carcharias headset. The same damn problem persists though, I even re-installed the drivers from both the Lenovo and Realtek websites again and that seems to have made it even worse. At this point I'm pretty confused as to what the problem is, so I take the headset over to my brothers Dell XPS 15 laptop and try them out. They worked perfectly, the mic volume was great. So I'm wondering is this a problem with my sound card or motherboard, or something else and is there any solution to fix this? Also the sound coming out of the headphones part works perfectlyl, its only my mic that seems to be the issue. Any insight on this problem would be most appreciated :)

Additional Computer Information: (Tell me if there is anything else you need to know)
    Windows 7
    i7-2630m Quad Core 2.0ghz
    8gb of Ram
    Nvidia Geforce 555m
    Realtek High Definition Audio

And before you ask, I did not put the mic plug into the headphone jack.
