It's cheaper because i get an extra discount on top of the current sale. Also, it's a b-day present, and i have a way too generous grandpa, so i can afford good specs, but i don't want to waste money if the upgrades aren't worth it...

I'm using it for multitasking, lots of music/movies/media, as well as some software development and video editing. I'm a student right now, but might need it to become a business laptop in a year or two =P (but i might be a little be in denial about that thought...)

I would appreciate any help or insight!

Check with lenovo on the availability of the 9 cell before you order...I had to change mine from a 9 to a 6 cell because they told me if i wanted a nine cell i would have to wait til september 28th because of supply issues.
