I got the regular WXGA on my new R61, and some people say they got the better WXGA + (1400 x resolution) option . I don't understand how that works since I'm looking at the order page and that option doesn't exist.
-
they are having supply issues due to manufacturer problems......i would have liked to order the wxga+ too..
-
order it from somewhere else like cdw
-
and pay a few hundred bucks extra? no way -
beggars cant be choosers

Well if you're prepared to wait, why not create your configuration online so as to lock in price, then call Lenovo on the phone requesting them include the higher resolution screen (when it becomes available) in your order?
Obviously this would delay your ship date, but should enable you to purchase at your preferred price with the enhanced high res screen option. -
I just called and placed an R61 order 2 days ago, he said he would be able to order the WXGA+ even tho it's not shown on the website.
-
By any chance, did you ask when they're expected to become available?
-
I just went to costcentral.com, looked up the stats of all of the T61s that they had in stock, and found a model with the same configuration I would have spec'ed out. 766416U. I see no problem with ordering a pre-made Thinkpad, unless someone has any information stating otherwise.

Cost, I believe... it seems to be more expensive from other retailers. HOWEVER, call LENOVO and ask what laptops they have built and ready to ship. I asked them this, and they had 2 on hand, but neither with the nVidia graphics card so I didn't buy it.
As far as when WXGA+ is available, my sales rep said 4-5 weeks -
wow, that really blows. doesn't look like i'll be able to get a t61 before school starts.
-
has anyone else confirmed that we have to wait 4-5 weeks for wxga+?
-
Ughhhh I jumped ship on HP to get a thinkpad and now this happens. lol
How do you get WXGA+ on a 14.1 if Lenovo doesn't offer it on its site?
