How long did your T60 take to ship

Hey cvec7, I ordered mine on 4/16 and it shipped today also. BTW I have the wsxga+ 15.4". Hope you don't kill me!! Guess the logjam broke! Can't get my parts list yet either and no e-mail for me.

wow, it's nice to hear the good news. I just ordered a couple of days ago. It seems that I do not have to wait too long now.

 

I ordered a customized T60p on 4/18 and it says it shipped today. Was suppose to ship by 5/14 so a full 2 weeks early. I'm was definitely surprised.

 

Scheduled to be here on Friday 5/4. I'll be standing at the end of the driveway at 9:00 AM.

 

Sounds like they have been getting stuff out faster than they were a few months ago. That is good news.

Soooooo relieved I got the LG LCD (13N7020)..... I actually returned the one I ordered in late March because it had the Samsung screen. So I guess the gamble (and wait) paid off!

LG & NMB for me too! I'm so happy. Especially since I've been having make all my posts since last monday off my pda with a whopping 11MB of RAM, fun! NOT.

Also, those of you who ordered the ABGN card, what was your part numbers/descriptions?

 

I just recently ordered a T60

However, I didn't choose the integrated fingerprint reader. Is it really worth it? Can I change my order if I decide that I want it since my ship date is 5/22??

Does anyone know if there's a way to get the LG screen once your laptop has shipped.. but you haven't recieved it yet?...I just found out i got a samsung..

 

Parts numbers for keyboard is 39T6476 and LCD is 42T6597 for 15.4 WXGA. CAn anyone tell me what the manufacturers are? Thanks a ton.

 

Check in the FAQ at the top of the forum. Looks to me like you got a Samsung LCD though.

Thanks much TPA. Looks like I got the ABGN card even though I called and had them switch it to the intel 3945. And I thought about calling back and having them switch it back to the ABGN card, but I didn't. Looks like they kept it anyway, yay!

P.S.- Estimated arrival date: TOMORROW

Hey Cvec7, even though yours took a long time to get to you.. at least you got everything you could want with your laptop.

Looks like there's things i wish mind had that it's not coming with..

 

I just read their return policy.. i have 21 days from the invoice date to return the laptop unopened.

I'm seriously considering it just to get the LG screen..

 

Can you call them before they will assemble one that you wont LG screen?
Or you have to wait until you got it shipped?

I ordered top of the line machine and will not allow them to put some crap in it.

 

It'll be easier to do it before they build.

 

Have you or anybody tried to specify part on their laptops, or you just call Johnathan and he will take care of that.

 

Ranoobu, I originally got the Samsung screen on a system I ordered in March. I was a bit torn on whether I should just deal with it..... Eventually I decided that since I'm going to have this laptop for several years, I won't want to be thinking everyday "Oh, I could have gotten that other screen...."

So I didn't even open the box, and returned it to Lenovo at my expense ($14 w/ UPS). Maybe you can get them to pay for shipping, but you have to prove the reason for return is their fault. I then just ordered the same system again. Fortunately I saved my previous cart, so it was easy to reorder for the same discounted price. I had to wait about a month (4-5 to 4-28 shipped), but this time I got the LG screen.

In sum, it's a gamble, and you'll have definitely have to wait and see if the gamble paid off. For me, it was worth the $14 and the wait for a 50/50 shot to have a screen that (supposedly) is far superior. But different people have different values.... ultimately you have to figure out what works best for you personally.

Inorv9, what did you use as a fault for lenovo? i have no idea what to say to get them to accept the return..

If i can find a legitimate reason for the change, then i will.. Like you, this is a long term investment for me... I really want to get the best that i can..

It's just really bummy for me.. because i'm so close to receiving it.. I just don't want to have to look at my purchase and feel like i got some sort of lemon

 

Like I said, I sent the laptop back at my expense. Because the box wasn't opened, they accepted the return.

Basically you have to determine for yourself if the risk (cost/wait) is worth the potential reward (better screen).

 

What's the problem with the Samsung screens and what's so good about the LG screens.

Mine T60 got shipped on 4/30. Ordered on 4/26, estimated ship 5/22. It is fast!

 

Whoops... I immediately thought canada since most of the stuff we get up here in AK passes through canada...

Is there anyone who get LG screen with their part number: 42T6598?
I would like to find out between 42T6590 and 42T6598.

 

it varies. it really depends on lenovo. apparently, research indicates that the reason it gets held is due to the shipper's fault.

And the fault being documents filed incorrectly to accompany an international shipment.

The office needs to call lenovo and fill in the missing gap.. whatever it is.. before they can release it. mine shipped 4/25 and was in holding until 4/28 where it was released and "awaiting agency clearance"...

if you're lucky, then they'll let it through from that point and it goes out to delivery... otherwise, it might get stopped AGAIN because the FDA wants to take a look at it... yes.. i said FDA

long story short. it's been in holding for me since 4/25. it's requesting clearance, but still hasn't been cleared. so i still consider that held.

I'm still bummed about my samsung. I'm still debating on whether or not i should keep it. haha.. I tried posting a thread asking about the differences, but i've only gotten one vague (yet very appreciated) answer. ho hum!

I hope you get your laptop soon, Cvec7. Mine is also held in Ontario. So it MAY give you a rough estimation as when it may be released..

 

I also want to point out that a quick call to UPS also informed me that even though you have that "BROKER-BACK LAPTOP" problem with your laptop that it doesn't mean that it's arrived from HK to the states..

It just means the paperwork they got has issues.. your package may still be on its way in a plane somewhere..

just a heads up... sometimes paperwork arrives before the actual package hits UPS center..

 

I just ordered mine Saturday and when I checked on my order it said it had shipped too. Upon further analysis, it was only the mini-dock that I ordered with my laptop that shipped.

I tried to call him yesterday all day, but never got him on the phone, all time answering machine. Will keep trying tomorrow.

I typically call around 1:15-1:45 AST, which would br 5:15-5:45 EST.
I usually get his machine, but got lucky today and got through on my second try 10 minutes later.
