How many happy T61 users still come back to this forum?

I am very happy with my T61. It is fast, quiet, and cool (warm at most). I have to say I come here not so often as I did before, but I do come back for info and possible issues.

I do notice some active members post fewer than the feverish T61 period.

I am curious about how many people like me still come.

Me. I liked my T61 from the start, but I am liking my T61 more and more as I get to use it every day for business.

XP Pro, 2.2 Ghz, 2GB, 15.4+, 3100, 100GB 7200, BT, AGN, fingerprint, 9 cell (very similar to yours)

Well I use a T60 but I do check back here to see if there's any tips I can pick up regarding using it. It has been very useful. I have to admit though I was surprised to see how many people were unhappy with the T61, or was it that those were the only ones who bothered to post about it (In comparison, I know some posted some good reviews.)

How is your experience with fingerprint reader? Feel really convenient? I did not choose it for the simplicity reason. Why not install 4GB RAM for the same price of 2GB charged by Lenovo?

I feel the truth is that EACH unhappy/unlucky customer has the need and urge to make posts here about their experiences. Few happy ones do so because your shopping is over.

Definitely, at least once a week. (Today I'm looking for information on the battery, for instance). I imagine this will be the first place I learn about things like an updated driver for turbo memory, etc. Also, there are still little thing (no on-screen brightness, password manager issues) that I'd like to resolve. But overall, I'm quite pleased with my T61.

I just got mine yesterday and after a full days use I am very happy with it even though it had a Samsung LCD and a Chicony keyboard. Which I find to be great, the keyboard feels the same as my old IBM and the screen is bright enough for my liking with little or no light leakage.

The build quality is very good but no where near how my old IBM's were. But of course my r41 costed about twice as much. So I think its a fair trade off for the price and its still quite durable. Better than most all other laptops on the market today.

Plus the customer service was excellent, I canceled my first order a week after I placed it, so I could change a few parts around and unlike other people that still received their canceled laptops, mine was really canceled and the fact that the reps weren't from a foreign country and spoke clear English was great. :p

Good to hear! I feel in the past, the T61 hype was so high that some customers have too much worry even for very small things. Nothing is perfect, but T61 is probably the best out there at this moment.

I'm still here! I'm enjoying my T61 after some issues with R&R, I called and got the recovery disks. (no charge, btw) Since then, everything has been working well.

It's nice as far as this very laptop is concerned. But you still have passwords to remember for lots of other stuffs. So fingerprint reader, though exciting, doesn't seem to be something that adds anything big, no?

By recovery disks you mean OS and other disks, right?

What are you talking about? The fingerprint reader + client security system takes care of all passwords. You do not need to remember and enter any passwords... just swipe your finger when asked to.

What about your online bank account? Your Amazon account? etc... Aren't there tons of logins that use passwords? Am I missing the whole thing?

OK, I see. :) Just one catch: if you rely on that, in the event the laptop is lost, wouldn't that be a disaster? You'll have trouble recalling the passwords
