I love my Z60m. I've had it now for almost a month and I still can't get over how cool it is. It goes everywhere I want it to (I'm sitting in the laundry room at college atm) and it has incredible battery life. It doesn't sound too bad through the laptop speakers, but over headphones it sounds very good. I use it in tandem with my desktop...it's wonderful piece of equipment. Better than all those crappy Dells.

I love my x60. But I almost wish I had the T60 with the 14.1 screen. 1024x768 is VERY small when your writeing code.

I might trade you my T60 for your X60!

Actually, it's probably too much hassle. But I think the T60 is probably more power and weight than I need. I would dig longer battery life and bigger type on Web sites.

Having said that, I'm certainly glad I bought a ThinkPad. I can't see using anything else now.

Hi,I haven't bought a notebook yet, but I just decided I'm probably gonna go for an IBM Thinkpad X60. aka, Lenovo 3000 V100 0763, specifically. Do any of you own this model or are familiar with the X60's?

Also I was considering buying throught the Lenovo store - is the waiting really that bad? If not through the IBM/Lenovo store, what other purchasing options are there that you know of? Thanks, Greg

I would think triple before I buy a thinkpad. It is a decent machine but the noise (again) of T43 is egregious.

Eh  The Lenovo 3000 is different from the X60. The X60 is a nice model. Very light and ultraportable. It is also speedy and has an excellent battery life. With the T2400 + X6 ultrabase, I get ~6 hours of battery life. Imagine just an L2400 without the X6 ultrabase. :) You can go with Lenovo's store, but you might have to wait some weeks before you get.

I believe they fixed the noise problem. My T60 fan barely goes on and when it does, it is barely audible. The X60 might get annoying as it goes on a off perodically (I changed some settings in the BIOS so this might just pertain to me), but it is not loud at all.

So what, the T43 is a little loud. Guess what, it'll go to hell and back without any problem, while any Dell will sit at the gates and cry.

    I have an a22m I use daily
after all these years it runs without a problem
built like a rock, litterally my 1.5year old jump on it all to often

the battery is dead havetn replaced that yet, so its always plugged in. but runs great still with win2k

plan to purchase in next couple of days a z61m
    for an upgrade

I'm still using an IBM T40, it's still running strong. I'm thinking about getting one of those new lenovo 3000 V100.

I liked my T60p, except for the poor screen. I couldn't stand it.

I sold off my 3 month old T60p and picked up a cheap hp dv2000t. Awesome screen, no more eyes strain.
