Hey everyone, my parents have an old IBM T40 notebook that has screen problems. Basically, the screen turns off intermittently during use. I've tried playing around with the power options and it seems to have done a little bit to help, but the problem persists. Does anyone know the cause of this and if it can be fixed or not?

That seems unlikely to be a software issue. Could try a Linux Live CD to see if it does it, if only to eliminate the possibility.
