Ordered an Y550 before Xmas.
On Lenovo's website, it says GMA 4500M UMA. But the chipset is GM45.
Anyone can confirm it's a 4500MHD or the other way?
Might cancel the order if it's just 4500M....
Thanks.

The 4500MHD and 4500M distinction only exists in desktops. All laptops with the GMA 4500 have the "4500MHD," meaning they are all capable of HD video decoding.

really?
for Y450, Lenovo specifically says 4500MHD...
some laptop spec says 4500M. -
Yup. There are tons of inconsistencies across the internet regarding the 4500M versus the 4500MHD, but they're the same in laptops.
Someone else recently asked this as well, the thread is here. -
thx, man.
appreciate ur time -
nice little piece of information, i never knew that in laptop only the 4500MHD exists. I tried to add to your reputation, but a message popped up saying that you are already Bill Gates of Reputation.... and kindly asked me to spread the wealth around for the reputation deprived individuals.

mine has been shipped already... ordered on 22nd.
wow... was prepared for delay.
not the best deal that I saw. missed the 520 for g210m deal.
but... not really need a discrete video card. -
just an update.
Got my Y550 on the last day of last year... Have been playing with in the past few days. I really like the looks.
Midnightsun is right. it's a 4500mhd.
I put k-lite on it. while playing 1080p x.264, cpu usage is about 20%. very nice.
no problem with hd flash either, like hulu. but I guess that's more of a cpu thing.
Ideapad Y550 currently has 4500M or 4500MHD?
