What else might they need to come up with? Software mods, other h/w tweeks to make everything operate correctly?? Change sales literature? Too expensive?

-
Why would they need to change anything? Its just a processor
-
If they actually ship mine, would I be able to upgrade the cpu down the road? Dont you think the R61 was built around the T7xxx, might need some adjustments?
-
No, it uses the same socket. Plug and Play
-
Plug and Play indeed. Of course, upgrading CPU's is not cost-effective. It doesn't conform to the standards of logic or economics. It's just stupid.
Did you read my response to lowspeed?

He's been speechless about it since. And with good reason. -
Yes, very compelling. What the t5xxx's dont have and the t7xxx's do is Virtualization...are any of the "pre-packaged" programs utilizing this function?
-
I don't know about laptops, but I have the virtualization feature turned off on my desktop CPU because I am overclocking it. I've got a well-behaved E6300 overclocked to 3.0 Ghz (up from 1.83 Ghz). I tried turning off virtualization even when I wasn't overclocking the CPU and didn't notice any difference in performance.
-
Virtualization only matters when you're working with multiple OSes.
-
So it would definitely be a plus feature for software developers using multiple OSes to test out their builds.
-
That is correct
If they ship R61 T5xxx, what else will change?
