Just below the screen on my T400 there are numerous little symbols which light up depending on their activity.
Starting from the right and going to the left:
1. Sleep mode
2. Plugged in to AC
3. Using battery
4. ?
5. Hard drive access?
6. ?
7. ?
8 ?
9. wireless connection
The one for wireless connection blinks when I am connected to my router and transfering/receiving. It blinks very fast. Is that normal.
What are the rest of the symbols.
-
4. Power state (on or off)
5. Caps Lock
6. Num Lock
7. WWAN
8. Bluetooth -
A fast blink is normal if you are transmitting receiving. If you are just sitting idle the light should stay solidly lit. If you disable wireless, the light should turn off.

As jonlumpkin said the blinking is normal. When you are transferring or receiving info, the wifi light blinks. The same holds true for the bluetooth light. When I move my bluetooth mouse the bluetooth light blinks.

So, here is the list:
1. Sleep mode
2. Plugged in to AC
3. Using battery
4. Power state (on or off)
5. Hard drive access
6. Caps Lock
7. Num Lock
8 Bluetooth
9. wireless connection -
so 3 if using battery, but right now i'm plugged into AC and both 2 and 3 are lit.
why is the battery icon lit right now? -
Maybe, using battery is not a good way to define it? Maybe it only means that there is a battery attached?
-
Why would my bluetooth light be illuminated? i didnt order bluetooth on this computer?
-
Check device manager and see if it's there. Alternatively, if you don't have bluetooth you may not have that indicator and are mistaking the WLAN or another indicator for it.
