Are there any instructions on the site for installing additional ram in a T60 (core2 duo, 2 ghz)? I have one gig of ram now (just bought computer). Thanks.

If it's the same as the T61, then it's very easy.

There are 4 screws on the underside marked with a little picture of some memory. Loosen them, open up your screen, and the plastic cover surrounding your mouse pad should lift up. Memory goes underneath!

Specific instructions should be in your manual.

It's been written that Lenovos are notoriously picky with RAM. Does anyone have some sort of guide or list of RAM that is compatible with Lenovos (T61) - by "compatible" I mean RAM that doesn't give a BSOD?

From what I understand any RAM with the proper specs will work just fine. I was all about spending as much as necessary to get quality RAM, but it seems to make little difference. I would go here: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=121363

and get a good deal on some RAM and not get hung up on any particular name brand of RAM. I will be getting Patriot RAM because I know they use the latest micron chips, has a lifetime warranty, the price is right, and it is proven to work!

I added 1Gb of Kingston (not ValuRAM) RAM into my mahcine on Tuesday when I received it and I've been pushing it pretty hard for the last 2 days with out any problems.

    RAM is RAM.
It works exactly the same, regardless of the manufacturer.

Unless you start considering speed. All ram of the same speed/timings is the same assuming it doesn't fail...

I bought a stick of Corsair 1Gb today and installed it as per the IBM instructions posted above. It was easy and went hitch-free (this was the first time I've ever opened a laptop up).
