    Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6200 T61P compatability?

    Have a T61-p with an Intel 495ABGN wifi card. Using the N part mostly but the range is poor.

    Have reviewed the Intel 6200-6300 series. The site states they are comparable with T61p but from past experience, I thought there was a bios lock or whitelist some sort where you could not Upgrade hardware.



    Anyone??

    T61p isn't even compatible with Intel 5100 or 5300 wireless card, i doubt that it would work with 6200.

    Who told you that..? I use a Intel 5300 in my T61.. Worked perfectly with BIOS hack.

    Thought things might have changed. About 2 years ago I was fooling around with the hack but it wasn't worth it. Oh well. You buy a product but can't fool with, only in China!
