    I believe they are Samsungs unless someone care to correct me. I'm not sure about trim, but not not get it with the cheapest drive and upgrade it yourself.

    The 80GB drive is probably an Intel SSD, while the 128GB version is likely Samsung or Toshiba.

    I wouldn't count on it being G2, as there's plenty of G1 drives still being sold. To be certain, you would have to add it after market.

    Depending on leftover stock of G1 drives, you may get G1 or G2. Just buy it yourself if you want to make sure.

    I really doubt they'd sell G1 with a brand new model.

    AFAIK for Lenovo:
    80gb-160gb => Intel
    64gb-128gb-256gb => Samsung-Toshiba

    Intel's drives are better, but I'm not sure you would notice a difference in real world applications.

    Has anyone actually seen a G2 x-18M (1.8"). Last time I checked you could get an x-25M in G1 or G2, but the x-18M was only G1.

    I think they are just starting to trickle out. My friend who works at Intel told me that employees still can't get a hold of G2s in any size. So I think supply is still constricted.

    I'm almost certain Newegg sells G2 2.5" drives. So what is your friend talking about?

    Newegg sells 2.5" G2 drives, as do many other retailers, but it's out of stock more often than not, and most are sold for significantly higher than the MSRP.
