I bought my t61 a few months back and disabled turbo memory (the readyboost and readydrive.) Did they release new drivers that fix the BSOD and freezing issues yet? I'm just feeling a little ripped off now knowing that I paid $50 for something I haven't used yet.
-
I've been using it since day one (which is 2 months) on my T61 and have not had one single crash / blue screen.
-
Not one BSOD, but I did disable readyboost to try a 2 gig SD card for it and had a miserable time trying to renable it on the chip. I had to uninstall the driver and reinstall it to get readyboost back. I guess in a word don't play with the check boxes on the driver control panel for readydrive and readyboost. Other then that it has been great not one BSOD. It has been rock solid -- make sure you have the latest drivers from lenovo though.
-
It's been 2 1/2 months and I have never had any problems with it either.
-
It has been fine for me just check all your drivers are upto date. Philfna when you turn on readyboost / readydrive on the tick box it can take 2 or 3 boots to come back on.

Have you tried to DISABLE the Windows Hybrid Hard Disk Power Saving option?
You can find the option from [Control Panel]-[Power Options]-[Change plan settings]-[Change advanced power settings]-[Hard disk]-[Windows Hybrid Hard Disk Power Savings Mode].
that has solved everyones problems according to http://forum.tabletpcreview.com/showthread.php?t=8359&page=15 -

So eyecon that was the trick. It has worked for you now event with APS on?
-
well it's been 12 hours without one...which is a good thing...i would recommend reading through the last 5 pages of the link i gave you for tablet pc forums...the first pages are just filled with people complaining like me..but the last few pages are success stories after someone figured this out
-
Yes I know it can take 2 or 3 tries to come back on, but it didn't work. 8 tries later no readyboost. So disabling, and reenabling worked.
-
i've read that it can take up to 20 restarts for it to enable after it learns your system...however, mine was up and checked on both boxes (readyboost and readydrive) after the 1st restart
-
Holy cow 20 reboots? I think my way of just disabling and renabling was quicker with just 2 reboots...YMMV
-
i also read that you're not supposed to mess with those checkboxes at all and let turbo memory deal with it itself
-
Great info, thanks! Now, can anybody hit me up with a link to the newest turbo memory drivers?

5. Intel Matrix Storage Manager v7.6.0.1011 (8/2/2007)

The Turbo Memory contains the Matrix Storage Manager drivers, so you don't need to install them separately.
-
the turbo memory driver contains the OLD matrix drivers..so you do need to install the matrix driver separately if you want to have the latest one
TIP: install the matrix driver after the turbo memory without restarting. Then restart once both of them are installed to avoid problems -
Ah, my bad. Good thing to know. Thanks.
-
no problem! ..the matrix driver bundled with the turbo mem is 7.0...while the new version is 7.6
