Can't resist any more and placed an order for the R61.

Yes, just as long as you're not starving yourself to finance this "habit" of yours.
Enjoy! -
how much did you pay for it?
and it's all right to have 2 laptops. I used to have 3 at the time, but sold/gave them away. -
No. It's illegal.
-
what's wrong with your x60s? that nerfed R61 you bought probably won't perform any better than your x60s, if you bought the highest performance x60s.
to each his own habits.
I have 2 Louis Vuitton messenger bags, 2 Coach map bags, 2 Kenneth Cole messenger bags, and a Halliburton Zero silver stainless terrorist looking briefcase.
enjoy. but watch out for the woman in your life. she'll slap you silly. -
Lol, yeah I have a transformer "habit". I'm up to about 150+ from G1 all the way to current movie. My Fiance doesn't say much, but were not married yet. I imagine it will come to a screeching halt soon enough, so lol, I have bought about 15 of them in the past 2 weeks.
-
This IS what I am worrying about.
-
My lady is quite cool actually.
Man, you collect bags?
My X60s has core duo L2400.
-
jor, I think Playmaker was kidding with you.
-
I sold my D420. Bought this X60s off ebay for 700 + 22 shipping.
And the R61?? I just configure as anyone else did - 6cell+WXGA+ were the only upgrade.
550 after tax
-
Hehe, I feel a bit guilty after placing the order.
I used to drive two blocks away to save 10 cents on gas.
-
-
another 10%?
there's one on the right of your screen! you used it?
-
I think I am gonna sell my desktop, so that I don't need to starve myself.
-
there is no 10% on my right screen. I used EPP account, which give 15% off.
-
AKAJohnDoe Mime with Tourette's
I currently have 4 laptops in working condition. I get a new one about every three or four years and simply neglected to divest myself of the prior one each time ....
-
Hey,
come on. 530 for this machine is a steal, OK?
-
The thing is in the last 3 years. I've owned and sold/given away:
toshiba a135
Dell 700m
dell e1705
dell e1505 X 2
dell d420
lenovo v200
I am sick, man, I am sick!

Two lappies are always a good start!

start to .....

Hi,
do you think the performance/quality/style difference between t61 and r61 worth the price difference? the t5470 isn't that bad for daily use, right?
-
place them all around the house as in kitchen, living room, patio, bedroom, dining area and last but definitely not least and my favorite area i.e the bathroom!!
I think one major advantage the R-61 has over the above T-61 configuration is the GPU. So many reviews these days have stressed that CPU is now hardly the bottleneck and it's now more about the GPU. For normal daily work I seriously doubt you will have any regrets going with that cheaper T5470 over the T7300. -
why nobody upgrades the warranty?
-
I like 12"'s, because they can be put on the laps while cr**
that's the true moment of 'laptop'
-
for daily use the t5470 is really fit for that purpose. Remember, the T and R series are just like Lexus ES 350 and Toyota Camry. They are basicaly the same car w/ minor differences. If I didnt buy my T61 a few weeks back, I could have just buy this R61 now and save a few hundred bucks. -
-
People buying the thinkpads dont get the warranty initially is because they have about a year to upgrade the warranty. I am definitely going to get the maximum warranty that I can afford. And yes I miss my 12" powerbook for the same reasons!! LOL
-
it gives me a reason to keep both laptops then! GREAT!
I am a big fan of warranty. I just don't know how good Lenovo warranty is. I bought complete care for almost all of my previous dell. peace of mind is priceless.
-
I see your point.
I've never owned a 14" so far. I hope it's a good balance of screen size and weight.
I loved the WSXGA+ on my E1505 and I love the size of my X60s. Only if they make a 12" with WXGA+!!

I know!! -

I have the same problem. I have a Dell precision M90 17", and I placed an order for a t61P@$1485.
I'm tryign to justify it based on portability....
It was a really good deal. -
-
why do you want to 17"?
-
You really NEED the t61p, buddy.

But it will be covered by warranty for 6 years (5 from lenovo and one from CC).
I was in the market for a thinkpad, and I really debated whether to get a used T42 or a new T61P.
Finally, the WUXGA screen with its 500:1 contrast ratio (T42's usually have 200:1 or 300:1), made me lean over to the T61P side. -
that's a smoking hot screen!!
-
.

-
turbografx 16 people! turbografx 16!
-
TI-99-4A?
How about a TRS-80 from the late 70's?
p.s. it is still kicking around in the attic...
=========================
We got the expensive model, the one with 16 KB RAM. The tape drive was lousy and didn't work too well.

I actually got it for a decent deal too. It was a refurb 1.83 / 512 / 60 / Combo for $799, and I got 1 GB of ram instead of 512.
-
