Hi
I just bought a 4 month old x220 ($400) with 2yrs 8months remaining on the warranty as shown when I type the number into the Lenovo website.
I bought it from Grays Online, an Australian auction site and I am wondering if the warranty is transferable to me?
Thanks

I think it would. I've had several ThinkPads repaired by Lenovo in the UK and in China. The service centers only asked for the serial number but nothing else. I guess it would be the same in Australia?

Lenovo's manufacturer warranty stays with the machine and not the owner so it doesn't matter where you buy it from. I prefer this to Dell's warranty where you have to know the previous owner's details including the address before being entitled to the system warranty which is a lot of hassle.

This is one of the main reasons I have stayed with the ThinkPad brand
Is the warranty transferable buying through an auction
