The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Is there a Lenovo version of "hpcd.sys" with regards to RnR

    I'm looking to create a 2nd RnR dvd set but everything I've read with regards to Lenovo has stated that you can't unless you 1st recover with the blue button. I don't fancy sitting through a recovery to create another copy. If it comes down to it ill settle for imaging the RnR set but I'd prefer another created from the source.

    I'm planning on:
    removing vista home
    installing vista ultimate
    removing S: / Q:

    I was planning on keeping vista home for convience but my imaging backup software doesn't work for the 'home' version.

    According to this thread HP systems prevent you from creating more than 1 through a file as described below. I can only assume that Lenovo does something similar.
