Is there a version of the x220 without mSATA slot?

Gah forum glitch but answering your question based on the thread title all X220's will have 2x MiniPCI Express slots, one to cater the Half Height Wireless LAN cards and one spare to cater either the WWAN card or mSATA SSD. It wouldn't really be beneficial if the X220 did not have any MiniPCI Express slots at all in my view...

Lenovo added 2 new configurations of the x220 to their website this week that are significantly cheaper than the old one's when similarly configured. I was about to buy one when I noticed something odd in the specs.

The 2 discounted configurations both say "No Mobile Broadband support". The old configurations say "Mobile Broadband ready (no mobile broadband module)"

The customize page also lists a Micro Hard Drive option (even though there are none available to buy) for the old ones. The Micro Hard Drive section isn't there for the new ones.

Is is possible they are missing the slot for the mSATA SSD?

It could mean it doesn't have the antennas too.

Looks like you're right about the antennas. The models with Mobile Broadband also have a screen that says Mobile Broadband ready.
