Do T61's have a sticker or something that tells Lenovo if you spilled water like cell phones do? I know there is a white sticker where the battery goes, and part of it is clear now. Is that it?

I have never heard of this. Did you accidentally spill water on your laptop and kill it? Do you have accidental protection warranty?

Tim: For cell phones, they all have a 'sticker' on the battery, which changes colours if there was any contact with a liquid, so they can tell whether or not the phone died from water spill.
As for laptops, I can't say for sure, however, I would really not be surprised if they had a few strips of stickers at certain areas. -
I know that Apple laptops have a liquid sensor sticker on their laptops, but I'm not too sure about ThinkPads.

When you remove the battery on your laptops what does your sticker look like?
Mine is like this, I can't remember if it was ever solid white, or always looked like this.

Mine has discoloration just like that. It covers more uniformly though.
However I did get mine used off of ebay, so I cant say anything about liquid spillage! dOh! -

It's pretty obvious on a laptop since it easily rusts and leaves large stains (even if you clean it). If it's liquid damage, 9 times out of 10 a good tech will be able to spot it.
Is there a way to tell if water was spilled?
