Aside from reapplying thermal paste, cleaning out the fan and insides... is there anything else I can do to improve cooling? Is there some sort of a laptop fan upgrade?

    Thanks

in my thinkpad w520 that came with a 45w heatsink fan assembly I put in the 55w cooler. You can use intel xtu to undervolt the offset, throttlestop to set the multipliers.

You can use a laptop cooling pad.

Sure, but my laptop mainly overheats when it's docked. Is there any way to cool a docked lenovo? Where the docking station covers the entire base of the laptop?

there is no 55w cooler for the x220, no space for it.
