    Hi!
So as stated in the title I am looking for some tips on how I could improve the performance, Is there any specific setting that I can tweak or turn off to make it flow better in games or is there any pre installed programs that slow the computer down?
    (Don't wanna overclock the computer)
I'm an old gamer that just picked up gaming again so everything is new to me (Again) haha, but I'm happy with the product just don't think that I get the fps I should get playing games...

    Thanks in advance, // Bill

I recently repasted my own y720 with new thermal paste called Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut. This is the first time i do such a thing and you need some information and knowledge on how to do it. But it was easy to dissassemble the Y720 after watching some youtube tutorials on how to. And then get access to the CPU and GPU to clean out the old and add the new paste. My Y720 is running about 5-6 degrees celcius colder under load than it did before, and together with Throttlestop i get way better performance in games now and my CPU never goes above 77 degrees even after hours of intensive gaming. Before it could easyly reach 85 degrees and would throttle the CPU a lot more, especially in more CPU intensive tasks such as open world games, that i play a lot. Hope you figure out something!

First, do a clean Windows install. Undervolt CPU with Throttlestop and GPU with custom voltage to frequency graph via MSI Afterburner (this is optional). Also SSD optimization, Nvidia Control Panel settings optimization, Windows settings optimizations ('adjust to best performance', disable game bar etc)

Y720 has poor thermal job so a repaste is recommended. I recommend Gelid GE Extreme (for non conductive paste), maybe IC Diamond too if the heatsink has uneven surface. TG Kryonaut, Arctic MX-4 and Noctua NT-H1 dries out quickly so I wouldn't recommend them.
