I just put in an order for a 14.1" T61 WXGA+. I looked around at posts around end of 2007 early 2008 so I'm not sure if this is still a problem.

I don't know about the Lenovos but the grainy screen issues with the Dell's is all over. They don't even offer that resolution anymore. It was the WSXGA+ Samsung screens. ;)

I got my 14.1" t61 wsxga+ in may. I have a Samsung screen but I have absolutely no complaints about graininess or brightness.
