I'm looking at the lenovo outlet and I see a X200t with the following specs,

    Intel® Core™2 Duo SL9400 (1.86 GHz, 6MB L2, 1066 MHz FSB)
    Genuine Windows 7 Professional 32 - English
    TrackPoint (TrackPoint Only)
    3GB (1GB & 2GB) PC3-8500 DDR3 1067MHz SDRAM SODIMM Memory
128GB SATA 1.8" Solid State Drive
    12.1” WideView SuperBright Outdoor WXGA (1280 X 800) LED
    Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD
    Optical Not Included
8 Cell Lithium Ion Battery (Up to 3.5 Hours Run Time)
Intel® Wireless Wi-Fi Link 5300 (AGN) with My Wi-Fi Technology
ntegrated Wireless Wide Area Network upgradable
    Bluetooth

Price is $1079. Is this a good price? I notice the SSD is 1.8. I thought X200t can handle 2.5 SSD's? I also like the 400nit screen, X201t tablets only run up to 300nits, right? Does it make sense to buy older technology? Would I be making a mistake? Should I go with X201t instead? I hear Lenovo outlet has a bad reputation, how so?

Processor - (a minus like this means so - so)
    OS -

    SSD +
    Display -
    no optical minus
    AGN +

    As a deal. it's "reasonable"

When you consider the fact that the Outdoor Display option is very hard to find now, if that's what you want, then it's a good deal. It might come back soon or it may not. It's kind of hard to say one way or the other with a crystal ball, which I do not have.

As the the performance it really depends on what you're doing, but I think most laptop uses don't really push the CPU enough to where you'd notice a difference. My tablet and my six core Phenom II seem about the same day to day usage, but I were to encode a Blu-ray, it's comepletely different story.

The X200t uses a 2.5" Hard Drive. I have one in mine. The one being sold probably uses an adapter.

I bought my X200 from the Outlet. I thought it was an excellent deal and the machine looked new to me. At the time it was the cheapest I could find a X200 by about 30%. It does have downsides as well. All machine come with a one year warranty, which cannot be upgrade via normal channels. You'd need to an out of warranty extension, which is more expensive. There's also no IWS or ThinkPad Protection if you wanted to upgrade.

    Zaz-

On the average your correct, But some of us do need headroom for those benchmarking situations.

I'd say you're the exception that proves the rule. Most laptop uses are not very CPU intensive.

I concur. Ninety percent of the time I'm browsing or doing some sort of word processing (ie now). Some graphic manipulation time takes longer than I'd like, but I attribute that to my ancient, single-threaded software, as even something like SolidWorks doesn't really use 100% CPU much.
