    Hi guys.

I'm new to this forum, and thought that I wanted your perspective on this case.

Today I bid an won an auction on ebay.

The auction was for a T420s and the seller had 100% positive feedback.

But maybe I was to quick bidding...

The seller states that his computer is brand new in unopened box, which is absolutely nice, but the thing that made me worry, was that he writes that it has a 500GB harddrive.

but.. does the t420s ship with a 500gb harddrive at all, or is this really a T420?

Please have a look at the listing:

eBay - New & used electronics, cars, apparel, collectibles, sporting goods & more at low prices

The seller insists that it is a T420s.

    Hope to hear from you.

It's a T420 he's listed. There's no 500gb 7200rpm 7mm hard drive, so it's definitely not a T420s. Also I think the i7 is only available with Discrete graphics so another red flag. Hope you haven't sent a payment yet.

If you've paid for it already and for some reason it turns out that it's not the T420s, you can always dispute it with Paypal. There's zero chance they'd decide in the sellers favor. You'd only be out whatever it costs to ship it back. If you use Parcel Post with delivery confirmation, it'll probably be less than $10.

Luckily no payment has been sent yet.

I have written to him, that i would need to see a picture of the label from the box before any payment will be sent.

I should have checked this before I placed my bid. But the price was good(not to good), and the seller had wonderful feedbacks, and only bought ties and nice shoes, so I thought that he was a businessman (he probably is).

I'm very thankful for your replies!

You can easily check this using the model number (type) and serial number. As Zaz has indicated, there are inconsistencies in the listing. The picture says T420 but the text says T420s. Verification of the serial number should confirm what it really is.

The T420s definitely is available with i7 and Optimus (discrete + integrated) graphics. I have one.

That's what I said. i7 is only available with Discrete graphics in the T420s. Whereas the auction is for i7 and Integrated.
