There's a T410s listed at Lenovo Thinkpad T410s Optimus Notebook | eBay for a machine with a little over three years left on the warranty.
I haven't been paying attention to the outlet. Can you buy a three or four year warranty for an outlet machine? How does this listing stack up?

Warranties for outlet purchases are not upgradeable.

Do outlet machines only come with a 12 month warranty? Seems odd you can't get a 3-4 year warranty on a new machine there.

yes that is correct. Only 12 months warranty. But you can purchase 2 years post warranty warranty, they are more expensive than the in warranty upgrade. -
sadly the warranty cannot be upgraded. Or else I would have bought one of those refurbished T410s out on ebay...

You can, but it has to be an out of warranty upgrade. The last time I checked that was $170 per year where as a regular machine costs $120 for an additional two years.
I don't know what the site says, but there's been people here who tried to upgrade and were told it was not an option. -

Is this a decent deal on a T410s?
