There's a T410s listed at Lenovo Thinkpad T410s Optimus Notebook | eBay for a machine with a little over three years left on the warranty.

I haven't been paying attention to the outlet. Can you buy a three or four year warranty for an outlet machine? How does this listing stack up?

Warranties for outlet purchases are not upgradeable.

Do outlet machines only come with a 12 month warranty? Seems odd you can't get a 3-4 year warranty on a new machine there.

yes that is correct. Only 12 months warranty. But you can purchase 2 years post warranty warranty, they are more expensive than the in warranty upgrade.

sadly the warranty cannot be upgraded. Or else I would have bought one of those refurbished T410s out on ebay...

so can you upgrade the warranty on an outlet computer or no? i've heard more people say no, but i got a redistributed W500 late last year, and when i look at the warranty info, it allows me to extend it an extra year or two on lenovo's site.

You can, but it has to be an out of warranty upgrade. The last time I checked that was $170 per year where as a regular machine costs $120 for an additional two years.

I don't know what the site says, but there's been people here who tried to upgrade and were told it was not an option.

The T410s listed below isn't a refurb. It is listed as used and the extended warranty is already in place. Apparently they bought a 4 year warranty at the time the T410s was purchased new.
