well it was just a quote i received, havnet bought it or anything and the free leather case isnt a deal breaker by any means
but what would you guys say is a good price for that config?? -
HAHAHA. free leather case!? u gotta be kidding. for the price of a t43, you are DEFFINATELY paying for that leather case.
-
for that money, you could almost buy two T42 2378-FVU
anyway...if have the need for such beast, good luck!!! -
I would check out ThinkPads.com, you may get a better price. Plus no sales tax unless you are in Florida. Good Luck.

Why are you getting a FireGL chipset in the laptop?
Unless you plan to run Autocad, 3dsmax, maya, XSI or some other CAD based OpenGL app, then you're wasting your money. -
You didn't share the specific T43 model number. It'd help to evaluate price and value.
My tip for getting a good price on a IBM Thinkpad is to buy it directly from IBM using their Visa discout website. Often it'll discount 10%, or more, off IBM's regular Web Price.
http://www.ibm.com/businesscenter/visa
The IBM education web site http://www.ibm.com/education/us has a very large selection of available models--many more than the Visa site. It's for educators, students and alumni. Good discounts if you're one of the above. If you find a model there, not offered on the Visa site, call the Visa discount phone number and ask them to match the model and price of the edu. site.
IBM employees, and their friends [], get the best discounts.
Is this a good deal on a t43?
